Exeter increases low risk underwriting limits

Income protection provider Exeter Family Friendly has increased the medical underwriting limits for its plan for low risk workers.

To make the application process quicker for advisers and customers, applicants under the age of 46 applying for Income One now only need a GP Report if their benefit is more than £5,000 a month.

Alan Ord, head of operations, said: "Income protection sales have never reached their potential and one of the major reasons has been the complex and sometimes lengthy application and underwriting process - we're determined to tackle this.

"This is just the first in a number of enhancements we are working on to make our application process quicker and smoother than it has ever been. This is essentially a simple step, but one which will have an immediate impact for advisers."
