Aviva's online capability improves claims

Aviva's protection claims website has made its process more accessible to policyholders.

According to Andrew Doran, claims manager for Aviva, those undergoing treatment in hospital or critical illness customers who would prefer not to discuss their situation on the phone, have been making online submissions.

He said: "We know from speaking to customers who have made a death or critical illness claim that informing their insurer can be a very difficult call to make.

"Feedback for the site has been overwhelmingly positive, so we are really pleased to offer extra support to help them through the claims process at a difficult time."

The site has received 250 claims since its launch in December; more than half have been made during evenings or weekends.
