L&G launches pre-paid funeral plan to IFA market

L&G has launched a pre-paid funeral plan product into the IFA market, guaranteeing acceptance with no upper age limit and no health restrictions.

Provided by Dignity Funeral Services, three different plans are available, with set prices ranging from £2,545 to £3,125. These can be paid as a lump sum or in 12 or 60 monthly instalments.

Open to customers over the age of 50, the plans include arrangements for a cremation funeral, although burial options are also available.

Peter Julier, protection marketing director for Direct at L&G, says: "Discussing financial provision for funeral arrangements is never an easy subject, but like making a will, it is important and sensible to make early preparations.

"By doing so, a customer ensures that their wishes are known and it helps to remove the burden of worry at what is a very difficult time for their family.

"The product extends Legal & General's funeral planning offering for customers who are concerned about rising costs."
