Cuna Mutual Group has announced a deal to distribute LV='s term life assurance to its network of building societies.

The partnership will increase the reach of LV='s life cover and deliver incremental growth for its mutual partner.

Melton Mowbray and the Scottish Building Society have already agreed to provide it to their near 80,000 members.

Cuna is currently the single intermediary to 20% of the UK building society market and this is the first time in its 40 year UK presence that it will offer term life insurance.

Paul Walsh, CEO of Cuna, believes the pair's mutual ethos, makes them ideal partners.

"The relationship has enabled us to provide term life cover for the first time to our building societies," he said.

Stuart Tragheim, director of business development and distribution strategy at LV=, was also pleased with the agreement.
