Lakey launches critical illness comparison website

A critical illness insurance comparison website which allows advisers to compare policies from every CI cover provider has been launched by Highclere Financial Services partner Alan Lakey.

CIExpert.co.uk allows advisers to key in client details and generate a list of suitable products, based on the level of cover for conditions the client is more or less likely to suffer.

For each policy, the site also offers a detailed list of conditions and claim statistics.

Lakey said: "My research over the last three years and nine months has been designed to find the underlying incidence level of various conditions.

"I am expecting at least 500 advisers to be using this in the first year. We also have plans to extend the site, I have the history of all the insurer's claims, which I don't think anyone else has."

The site also offers the ability to compare older policies on the site.

Lakey said: "We have all current brochures and key facts. We also have a 400 brochure history of old plans, so people can compare old with new.

"The site will provide insight enabling advisers to not only sell new policies with confidence but to not accidentally get rid of an older policy that is probably better than a modern one."

The site also has a section aimed at consumers, detailing the different types of CI plans, common misconceptions about the products and what conditions are the most likely to occur.

Advisers can subscribe to the service for three, six or 12 months, with subscriptions costing £90, £160 or £280 plus VAT. There is also an introductory offer of 15 months for £300 plus VAT.

Lakey added: "This is the first time advisers have been able to compare CI policies from all providers and the site can only get better."
