Health Assured has unveiled a new employer centred private medical insurance (PMI) policy.

The new Work Assured plan is designed to reduce staff absenteeism and provide employees with private medical treatment to speed up a return to work following sickness or accident.

It also includes pre-employment screening for new recruits, on-line health assessments and stress coaching tools, an employee assistance programme with eight face to face counseling sessions, unlimited access to occupational health professionals for staff with health issues and private treatment to help sick employees back into the workplace.

The Work Assured product is available for organisations with more than 20 employees covered, and will cost £197 per employee per annum plus tax.

Matthew Kelvie, commercial director at Health Assured, said: "The primary reason why most companies buy medical insurance for their staff is to facilitate a speedy return to work following sickness or an accident."
