Following the launch of its Twitter site, Canada Life has launched a range of information and product based webcasts.
The insurer has developed a range of support materials for advisers, employers and employees in a branded approach to communications:
iNSIGHT - legislation, technical and product briefings aimed at the adviser.
iNFORM - product and service presentations aimed at the employer.
iNVALUABLE - service and benefit presentations aimed at the employee.
Building on the provider's iNTOUCH bulletins it now offers an audio and visual set of briefings. Further evolutions of this communications approach are planned.
The initial webcast is available from today (1st November 2010) and covers the impact of phasing out the Default Retirement Age. It lasts 15 minutes.
It will be the first of a number of regular legislative updates for advisers. With fifteen more adviser, employer and employee briefings scheduled, the plan is to have regular releases of materials - such as legislation updates - and a library which will be updated as changes are made to products and services.

Paul Avis, Sales and Marketing Director, commented:
"Embracing these new ways to communicate with our intermediaries is based on the premise that we need to be in touch in whatever format, with whatever frequency and in whatever medium they prefer.
"We will continue with traditional press releases and product update bulletins but now make available more options to provide information through new technology.
"The audio visual approach is exciting as we can get our subject matter experts sharing their thoughts in a cogent way to develop adviser understanding. We were aware that there was a gap in the market for these insights and updates, which we now hope to have filled."
