The policy also added five new conditions, bringing the total covered to 170 conditions. These are Bowel Ischemia, Central Retinal Occlusion, Devic's Disease and Spinal Stroke.

Business Protection

Vitality Optimiser will now be available on all of VitalityLife's Business Protection Plans.

Adviser Hub

An online portal ‘Adviser Hub' includes a menu plan option, the ability to have multiples quotes and one application, a "one-stop shop" for managing existing clients and the ability to run campaigns for existing clients and prospects. A SmartAdviser app has also been introduced.

The insurer said the system would make it easier for advisers to quote VitalityHealth products to existing VitalityLife customers.

Changing Vitality Rewards structures

The reward structure for Vitality has also changed to align benefits for members.
In addition now slightly different point structures to encourage members' partners and dependents to engage with the Vitality service.

The insurer had found that 45% of members' dependents were not engaging with Vitality rewards.

At the launch in London, the firm also announced that new wearable devices such as the Apple Watch will be added as accepted fitness trackers.
