Ageas Protect has confirmed its new management structure, with Darren Spriggs replacing Martin Werth as managing director.
The insurer has also appointed Jane Dale as finance director.
Spriggs has been filling the role on an acting basis since Werth's departure at the end of last year.
He joined Ageas from its sister company RIAS in 2011 as operations director and has over 20 years experience of managing large scale customer-facing operations.
Spriggs was previously part of the leadership team that worked across Ageas Protect and RIAS to launch the Over 50's Life Plan.
Jane Dale joined the business to support the finance function in May 2011 and has now been appointed permanently to the position of Finance Director.
Dale has already implemented improved risk policies and procedures in line with Solvency II requirements and will continue to lead the company's Solvency II programme, as well as chair the Ageas Protect Risk and Investment committees.
Dale has previous held both financial director and managing director roles including those at Legal and General Insurance Limited and Group Protection.
Spriggs said he was pleased with the provider's progress over the last four years and intends to maintain its market identity.
"There is clear blue water between Ageas Protect and its competitors in terms of underwriting philosophies and customer service and I'm keen to continue to build on the fundamental pillars behind this success, that being the delivery of innovative products, market leading processes and five star service," he said.
"Moving forward, we will be sticking to these principles, but looking creatively at how we continue to respond to our partner and customer needs.

These new appointments are both subject to FSA approval but will start with immediate effect.
