Bupa reprices CI

Bupa has announced a price revision for its critical illness rates.

As a result the provider says the majority of its premiums have been reduced.

For guaranteed premiums, about 86% of rates have reduced, 13% have increased and 1% have remained the same.

For example, for a male non smoker aged 32 next birthday with a level guaranteed policy of £100,000 over a term of 33 years, the premium reduces from £48.83 to £44.94 per month, a reduction of 8%.

Of the 13% that have increased, these predominantly relate to individuals with low sums assured and in joint life cases as a result of the reduction of the joint life discount factor.
