Aviva has announced a three-year deal with the Lighthouse Group to provide life protection products through its national adviser division, Lighthouse Financial Advice (LFA).

The core solutions agreement, which will begin on 3 June 2013, covers the sale of Aviva's core protection products, including life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection.

The deal means 220 advisers will have access to the insurer's protection products to service the needs clients.

Malcolm Streatfield, chief executive of Lighthouse Group, said: "LFA and Aviva can work together to substantially increase the proportion of customers who have adequate protection cover.

"We are on target to grow our LFA division adviser numbers from 200 to 500 over the next three years and we want protection to be at the heart of our proposition."

Louise Colley, protection distribution director for Aviva, said the insurer was "thrilled" to be working with the advice firm.
