Aviva launches 'high value' cases protection team

clock

Aviva has launched a specialist protection team to offer a tailored service for protection cases with high levels of cover and large premiums.

The team will handle protection cases with life cover of more than £1 million, life and critical illness cover of more than £500,000 and annual premiums of £6,000 or more.

The insurer has also given advisers a ‘service promise' to ensure their cases are dealt with quickly and smoothly.

The team will contact advisers within 24 hours of a case being submitted, use existing medicals or executive screenings where possible.

They will also provide the option of speaking to a high value underwriter instead of filling in a questionnaire. However a financial questionnaire is not required for cases up to £3 million of life cover or £1 million of life and critical illness cover.

For business protection for established businesses, financial advisers will not be asked routinely to provide accounts for sums assured up to £6 million of life cover and £2 million of life and critical illness cover.

The team will also regularly review non-medical and financial underwriting limits to ensure they remain competitive, Aviva said.

Aviva will also offer an extra 10% lautro for cases submitted online, in addition to its service which aims to match or beat competitor quotes for all high value cases.

Robert Morrison, chief underwriter for Aviva said: "We know that high value clients have very specific requirements so our new team has been designed with this in mind, to create solutions tailored to their individual needs.

"The team is focused around providing a streamlined service to ensure cover is in place as quickly as possible, while premiums are kept competitive at all times."
