Bupa has acquired Barbican Dental Care in the latest expansion of the insurer's dentistry services as it aims to become one of the biggest UK chains of private dentists.
The deal involves nine central London dental centres - four in retail settings and five which are onsite in corporate centres - which currently carry out over 50,000 patient appointments a year.
The deal brings the number of dental centres that Bupa now operates to 31 across the country.
Tracey Fletcher, managing director Bupa Health Clinics, said: "This is a major step towards achieving our goal of becoming one of the UK's biggest chains of private dentists.
"With our network expanding in locations where people work, the new centres are ideally located for people to drop by during their lunchtime, or outside working hours.
"This convenience helps both companies and their employees to save time and help prevent dental problems that can lead to employee absence."
