AXA PPP offers fast track to consultant medics

clock

AXA PPP healthcare has extended fast track booking service to members of its health insurance schemes whose GPs refer them to a specialist without naming a particular person to see for their consultation.

Following completion of a successful pilot, the service, which is not compulsory, aims to offer an appointment with a suitable specialist within hours of the initial call, in most cases members can get in to see the consultant in just a few days.

AXA PPP can also book the appointment if the member wishes.

The health insurer has established a dedicated specialist team who, using information provided by members and their GPs, will apply their knowledge of specialists' clinical practice to identify and offer an appointment with a suitable specialist close to their preferred location.

AXA PPP's membership and people director Sonia Wolsey Cooper said "Our fast track service will help to remove the administrative hassle of getting in quickly to see a specialist.

"It's part of our continuing commitment to provide our members with exemplary care and support when they need it most and enable them to concentrate on getting started with their treatment."
