More than £4,200 was raised for Médecins Sans Frontières at this year's LifeSearch charity night, which was sponsored by the great and the good of the protection industry.
The Association of British Insurers' head of life and health, Richard Walsh, managed to raise a significant amount after a breathtaking performance of the old classic My Way in a Sid Vicious style, not only sounding like the punk icon but also being dressed for the part with green Mohican, ripped clothes and ripe language tattooed onto his forearms.
Other fundraisers, albeit perhaps not as memorable, included Royal Liver, Liverpool Victoria, Zurich, Legal & General, Prudential, Norwich Union, Scottish Widows, Axa, Bupa, Standard Life, Bright Grey, Friends Provident, Scottish Equitable and The Exchange.
