Progress from Royal Liver has made reductions across its Family Income Cover premiums.
The reductions range between 5% and 10%, and apply to 87% of policies in the series.
The new rates are available immediately.
Stephen Edwards, head of protection products at Progress, said: "We have taken the opportunity to strengthen our overall competitive position as part of an ongoing review.
"We will continue to look at our competitiveness in the protection market and Family Income Cover is an important part of our product menu."
