A new scheme aimed at providing affordable corporate healthcare has been launched by advisory service, Health Care Navigator.
The company, which provides information on self-pay routes as an alternative to PMI, is to be headed up by former BUPA managing director, Roger Hymas. It claims that the scheme will encourage companies to work with IFAs to provide cost-effective alternatives, making healthcare more affordable and bringing extra business to intermediaries.
The telephone-based service provides access to databases allowing customers to find the best value healthcare in their area as well as health advice and personal finance products. The service can cost as little as £20 per employee.
Roger Hymas, chairman of the service, said: "As with the company car, PMI as a free employee benefit is being eroded. We believe HR professionals will want to evaluate this option to safeguard their employees' health. The arrival of stakeholder pensions is likely to accelerate this trend."
