Norwich Union Healthcare has enhanced its international private medical insurance proposition and Global Care (GC) and Global Care Plus (GCP) products for expatriate customers.

Improvements include a £500 wellness benefit on GCP and chronic conditions, and HIV/AIDS cover of up to £3,000 on GC, with £5,000 on GCP. Cash benefit limits have also been increased from £25 to £100 a night for GC and from £50 to £150 a night for GCP.

The insurer also revealed that the five zones into which GCP divides the world have been expanded to bring some countries into a cheaper zone, and that all cover limits have been removed from ambulance benefit.

"These latest enhancements ensure that our product will continue to be popular with intermediaries and customers," said Shah Rouf, head of international at Norwich Union Healthcare.
