Exeter Friendly Society has capped the liabilities on its co-payment plan, Shared Care. The private medical insurer decided to make the move after feedback from intermediaries showed that they were looking for greater control over the amount clients could be liable to pay when making a claim. Shared Care policyholders opting for the 25% co-payment plan are now liable for a maximum contribution of £5,000 per person towards eligible claims, while those opting for the 50% co-payment plan are liable for a maximum of £10,000. "By capping the maximum contribution, we can ensure our members know exactly how much they may need to contribute towards the cost of their treatment," said Neil Armitage, marketing director at Exeter Friendly Society.
