Now Health's investor, the Primary Group, has completed its acquisition of Best Doctors Insurance.

The combined International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) provider will have 12 sales/service offices, over 100,000 members and over 330 staff, as well as over 5000 distribution partners.

The Best Doctors' second opinion service, available through many insurers, will continue to be offered following the deal, as it is owned by Best Doctors, Inc. which is the parent of Best Doctors Insurance.

The business has a target to reach a cumulative premium level of $1bn over the next three years.

As well as IPMI the combined business plans to supplement its core IPMI offering with a range of complementary accident and/or health products.

A common technology platform across the business to allow 24/7 customer services and there are plans to use the expanded medical provider network to achieve economies of scale.

Martin Garcia, CEO, Now Health International, said: "This combination of Now Health and Best Doctors Insurance is a significant milestone in our journey and I'm excited to take our newly enlarged IPMI platform to a whole new level.

"I'm confident I have one of the strongest and most experienced leadership teams in the industry and together we will continue to deliver great value international health insurance solutions and a high quality, differentiated customer experience."
