Aviva has launched an improved group risk website to inform and educate intermediaries on the benefits of the sector.
The provider is also committing to raising the profile of the group risk benefits market, which it feels is there to be exploited.
Its website will be updated on a regular basis, and now hosts content including video clips of experts discussing a range of topics such as early intervention, claims management and rehabilitation.
The commentary explains how group risk can make a difference to both employers and employees.
Research conducted by Group Risk Development (GRiD) showed that 41% of employers did not know what the term ‘group risk benefit' meant, and that almost two thirds of those questioned (63%) did not have any group risk products within their benefits package.
The provider says its new marketing campaign,Let's Talk Group Risk, has been created to help bridge this gap and emphasise the opportunities available for advisers.
Steve Bridger, head of group risk at Aviva UK Health, says: "We believe that education is key with regards to group risk.
"There is a wealth of opportunity out there and we want to give intermediaries the tools to enable them to take full advantage."
