LifeSearch launches petition for finance education in schools

LifeSearch has initiated a petition to start personal finance lessons in UK schools.

Created on the Prime Minister's Number 10 website it seeks to prevent financial mismanagement enveloping the potential bankruptees of the future.

The national curriculum currently has no co-ordinated plan for personal finance education, something that Matt Morris, senior policy adviser at LifeSearch, believes should be addressed to halt Britain's growing mountain of personal debt.

He said: "Proper education means consumers of the future will be much more aware of how to handle their money and will better understand the basics of financial planning and products."

"The place to start must be educating the next generation of Brits, before the shroud of financial mismanagement envelops the potential bankruptees of the future," he added.
The petition can be found here.
