With 6 April a thing of the past, it would be easy to mop your brow and breathe a sigh of relief that it came and went without too many hitches. However, the recent COVER Think Tank on group risk suggested that this is, indeed, just the beginning. With age discrimination set to come into effect in October 2006, further upheaval in the group market is likely. PTA providers, too, are still coming to market, but it will be a while before the dust settles and everything starts to fall in place. Needless to say, while all this change brings a degree of uncertainty, it also brings a wealth of opportunity. The seeds are being sown for what could be a very fruitful future.
Farewell...
Alas! The time has come for me to bid farewell. After three and a half years at COVER, I am leaving the dizzy heights of health insurance and protection for the crazy world of mortgages. I have met some very colourful characters over the years and it has, more often than not, been a hoot. Thanks to all those who have supported me since I became editor, I am sure I will see many of you again at one of those rare events that is an awards ceremony. Though I bid you farewell, I leave you with a familiar face and in the safe hands of Johanna Gornizki who takes over as editor next month. I wish her the very best of luck.
And so, believe it or not, I have nothing left to say, except:
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye. I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye - Goodbye!
