The health insurance and protection comparison site ActiveQuote has been declared the 6th fastest growing company in Wales, and fastest in Cardiff.

The company was launched in 2009 and offers a direct-to-consumer service and has partnerships with other comparison websites, including Gocompare and Confused.com.

The award was presented at 2014 Wales Fast Growth 50 awards ceremony in Cardiff.

It has achieved growth of 410% between 2011 and 2013 and has doubled its workforce in the past year. The company will soon move to larger offices in Cardiff to accommodate its expansion to 120 staff.

Dr Richard Theo, founder and managing director of ActiveQuote, said: "We are thrilled to win this Award. We are very proud of what we have achieved in just five years, it's been a great team effort and the Award is a tribute to every single person who works for ActiveQuote."
