Old Mutual adds 'There for You' across Protect policies

Old Mutual Wealth has added a comprehensive support service, called ‘There for You', at no extra cost to its range of Protect policies.

The service, supplied by specialist provider RedArc, gives Old Mutual Wealth customers access to a team of telephone based Personal Nurse Advisers, who can provide practical advice, emotional support, explanations and information to support customers through difficult circumstances.

‘There for You' is available to customers, their spouse or partner and their children from the day the cover starts, whenever they need it, for as long as they need it. Customers do not even need to make a claim on their policy to have access to the service.

Customers with Old Mutual Wealth Protect policies will have access to a trained Personal Nurse Adviser who can provide support with the following:

- Help with serious illness or disability
- After hospital care
- Help with mental health
- Second medical opinion
- Bereavement
- Long term or old age care

There for You is available to all new Protect customers and those who have a Series 9 policy purchased since November 2014.

Tom Hawkins, head of UK Proposition, Old Mutual Wealth, said "Our aim since we launched our very first protection plan has been to give customers the best quality cover at an affordable price.

"But money isn't the first thing someone thinks about when they're told they have a serious illness or a loved one dies - which is why we want to do more than write a cheque."

"It can be a hugely emotional time; shock, fear, loss, questions about what it all means and what to do next are all things that will enter customers' minds so we're delighted to be able to go some way to helping them through the difficult times with our new There for You service, available at no cost to all Protect customers."

Christine Husbands, managing director, RedArc added: "We are delighted to be working with Old Mutual Wealth to ensure that their customers and their families have the very best support possible, should they become unwell, suffer a bereavement or need help with long term care."
