IPT set for another record year

Taxation hits £6.78bn in FY25/26

HMRC data released today showed that Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) receipts hit £6.78 billion in the first eight months of financial year 2025/26.

November 2025 added a further £1.25bn to the taxation haul. The statistic represents a £125 million increase year-on-year, with FY24/25 figures standing at £6.64bn at this point last year. Last year was a record annual total for the taxation, with end of year figures reaching £8.88bn, this year's statistics look well on track to surpass FY24/25 figures.
