Eight of 10 advisers actively promote trusts to clients

Research by Royal London has found that eight out of 10 advisers promote the use of trusts or beneficiary nomination during client meetings.

According to a study among 109 advisers on Royal London's panel, 66% of advisers 'always' discussed trusts or beneficiary nomination and 15% discussed this 'frequently', while a further 17% said it was dependent on the client's circumstances. According to the survey, advisers noted that they mainly discussed trusts with clients to get the money to the right person (84%), estate planning (64%), to provide good outcomes (51%), improve the speed and efficiency of the claims journey (46%) and for holistic planning (30%).
