Subcategories for medical decisions added to Online Protection Connect (OLPC)
Building on the last OLPC update, which showed high-level information at the point of sale explaining why a customer has been offered non-standard terms, Legal & General has announced further changes to the intermediary case management system.
Aimed at providing more transparency around reasoning for non-standard terms during the adviser to customer journey, sub-category risk factors behind the medical high level reason for decision - for example, heart murmurs, asthma and blood pressure - have been added.
According to L&G's intermediary director, Craig Brown, the changes are part of a wider process to streamline protection applications. "We've been working with advisers to simplify the process and our latest update is another step on this journey," he said. "By removing unnecessary admin tasks we can free up time for advisers to focus on providing protection for their clients."
In August, the insurer launched an online trust application process for intermediaries, across personal, business and relevant life plans, and in September an online management tool for group income protection and group life assurance was opened to brokers.
