APRIL UK reports 'record' PMI sales

APRIL UK has reported a strong start to 2015 with ‘record sales' of its ‘inSpire' private medical insurance plan in January and February.

The Bristol based protection and insurance provider has also launched a new company version aimed at bringing affordable private health cover to the SME marketplace. It is now forecasting continued growth for the remainder of the year.

The ‘inSpire' PMI plan was first launched by APRIL UK just over 12 months ago. It provided policy holders with affordable medical insurance cover combined with comprehensive benefits for use at any of the 39 private hospitals within the Spire Healthcare network.

Isaac Lam, marketing manager at APRIL UK, said: "Intermediaries have taken to the ‘inSpire' plan really well. They can see that it represents good value for money with its competitive premiums and high level of medical insurance benefits.

"Buoyed by the success of their individual offering, APRIL UK have now launched an SME version, which is currently distributed through an exclusive panel of intermediaries.
"For us it makes sense to extend the concept of ‘inSpire' beyond the individual market and into the SME sector. The initial response from intermediaries has been very encouraging."

Richard Holden, commercial director at Chase Templeton, who are on the panel to sell the ‘inSpire' SME Plan, said: "Because healthcare provision is focused on the Spire hospital network, the ‘inSpire' Plan has been able to offer a strong low-cost proposition within key geographical areas which has proven a useful addition to the market - one which is likely to prove popular with cost-conscious SMEs looking to offer benefits to employees to further assist recruitment and retention."
