Bright Grey has announced its first set of results are ahead of target, recording £4.6m in annual premium.
The IFA protection business, which is part of Royal London, was launched last March. Focussing on service as its main proposition, the provider has rolled out its products slowly to the IFA market to prevent over-heating systems.
Group chief executive of Royal London, Mike Yardley, said Bright Grey's success was partly due to its decision to only deal with a proportion of the IFA market after launch.
"Bright Grey took the decision to have a managed roll-out to the IFA market. This approach has allowed them to manage both volumes of business and the excellent level of service being delivered to IFAs and their clients," he said.
There have been recent reports in the press speculating Bright Grey's intention to move into the guaranteed critical illness (CI) insurance market. Bright Grey has not ruled out launching a CI product with a guaranteed rate, but said no firm plans had been made. "We've been considering this for some time," said Lisa Mowbray, product marketing manager.
