Figures from the Government Statistical Service (GSS) have shown no increase in cancelled operations over this time last year.
During the third quarter of this year the NHS cancelled 12,952 elective operations at the last minute for non-clinical reasons.
In the same period in 2010, there were 12,991 cancelled elective operations, which represented 0.7% of all elective activity, the same percentage as this year.
Of this years cancellations, 415 (3.2%) patients were not treated within 28 days of a cancellation.
In the same period in 2010, 351 (2.7%) of patients were not treated within 28 days.
