Legal & General (L&G) has introduced a new range of benefits for new and existing group risk policyholders.
The initiative, Steps to Health, offers employers a range of services to help them manage the health and well-being of its staff.
Benefits will include a telephone-based employee assistance programme free of charge to all employees, a medical information service helpline and a bereavement counselling helpline.
Discounted occupational health and risk assessments are also available through a link-up with healthcare specialists Previa UK, as are mobile health screening and pre-employment screening services.
L&G has also arranged discounts with Stressgo, a company which provides onsite massages and well-being days.
Commenting on the launch, Jane Dale, director of group risk at L&G, said: 'There is an increasing awareness of the costs of staff absence and we are continually thinking of ways we can develop our products to help employers manage these costs.
She added: 'We negotiated a range of services to benefit employees and employers alike. Employers benefit from encouraging a healthier and safer workplace and employees have access to a range of benefits that will not only benefit them in the workplace and employees but out of work too.'
The provider has also announced changes to its group risk range of products. The number of members required for unit rate costing has been reduced from 20 to 10.
In addition, the maximum insured benefit for each scheme member and the maximum cover for employers' pension contributions have both been increased under its group income protection scheme.
