Royal London has announced a new fundraising goal of £68,000 for the charity Bloodwise, formerly Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

Royal London has already raised £145,000 for the charity which rebranded on 1 September 2015.

The latest fundraising effort is to help send 20-25 families and children affected by blood cancer to Disneyland Paris as a break from treatments.

The first fundraising effort towards the new target will be a photo competition.

Emma Hill, head of brand & sponsorship at Royal London, said: "Two years ago Royal London set itself a target of fundraising £100,000 to help beat blood cancer.

"We've already smashed it and raised £145,000 for Bloodwise. Our employees have baked, run, rowed and cycled, to name just a few of their fundraising activities for the charity.

"Now we're on a new mission to raise £68,000 to send families affected by blood cancer to Disneyland Paris later this year.

"Earlier this year 750 Royal London employees took part in a pedometer challenge and collectively walked 64,000 miles - the equivalent of walking around the world two and a half times.

"Now we are challenging them to devise lots of new fundraising activities - starting with a photo competition."
