clock

Chancellor George Osborne has said 'our priority is the NHS' while confirming the NHS would receive £10bn a year more by 2020.

Speaking at the second Budget of 2015, Osborne said "our priority is the NHS" and that the "NHS would only truly be safe in Conservative hands."

As promised during the election, the NHS will receive £8bn on top of the extra £2bn provided this year, or £10bn a year more by 2020.

Osborne also said that there would be "savings made" but did not confirm what these were.

He said that a strong seven day NHS would depend on a strong economy.
