The latest developments in personal health technology will be eligible for a new awards scheme launched by AXA PPP in partnership with 2020health and the Design Museum.

As well as the awards scheme, there will also be a forum and exhibition to show the latest tech developments and explore the implications for designers, healthcare professionals and users of new technologies.

A key aim is to examine the potential influence and impact on the public's approach to managing its own health.

Today has seen the launch of healthtechandyou.com which is described by AXA PPP as, "a go-to place to see an up to date edit of the best and most interesting innovations reaching the market worldwide. It will be a much-needed source of information about the latest devices and technology to improve and maintain personal health."

The AXA PPP Health Tech & You Forum will be held on 16 October 2014 and will explore the implications of the current wave of changes currently engulfing healthcare. Entries for the awards will be eligible for nomination from the same day.

The exhibition at the Design museum in March 2015 will bring together health tech innovations from across the globe and present them to show how they can be used in everyday life, and will include the shortlisted award nominees.

Categories eligible for nomination for the awards are: Staying Healthy, Managing Conditions, Signs and Symptoms Checker, Best R&D Product, Most Innovative Organisation, and a special category which will this year focus on Pregnancy, Birth and Early Years.
