Nearly nine in 10 Brits experience more burnout symptoms than usual

Research by Cigna Healthcare has found that eight in 10 Brits (88%) have experienced more burnout symptoms than usual.

According to the 2023 Vitality Study of 10,000 people in 12 countries, including over 1,200 in the UK, 49% cited the ongoing cost of living crisis as the largest cause of stress, followed by personal finance (38%). Women's mental health was "significantly" more affected by burnout and stress caused by the current state of the world than men, Cigna detailed. Women in the study had lower vitality levels than men, driven by factors including an overall ‘perception of a lack of energy and positive spirit', scoring lower than men for both emotional and financial vitality.
