Protection Guru creates new example wordings for critical illness policies

Protection Guru has announced the launch of a series of recommended and updated examples of critical illness (CI) definitions to improve the clarity of policy wordings and to ensure alignment with the latest medical practice.

As part of the Designed by Doctors series, Protection Guru brought together an independent medical committee of doctors and epidemiologists to create new example wordings for CI policies, aiming to ensure best patient outcomes. With the introduction of Consumer Duty placing an "unprecedented spotlight" on the quality of protection products, the committee revisited 10 "key" CI conditions, such as heart attacks, total permanent disability and multiple sclerosis, to identify "unnecessary complexity and obsolete medical terminology", Protection Guru detailed.
