Reciprocal arrangements for healthcare would remain in place with EU states if there is no deal, but only until end of 2020

Last week, the UK government announced that it has pledged to cover healthcare costs of UK pensioners living abroad until 31 December 2020 in the event of a no deal Brexit.  As we reported, it means that existing reciprocal arrangements for healthcare cover (S1 certificate) between the UK, EU and EFTA states would remain in place once secured, but only for a set period, and there is uncertainty regarding the required living status for UK expats needing treatment on the NHS.
