IPMI provider invests "heavily" in system transformation

IPMI provider for SMEs ALC Health will be updating online claims systems in a rollout of major technology improvements.

The improvement will enable users to track claims in addition to existing online re-authorisation.

Andrew Apps, director of ALC Health, said: "For the average broker IPMI is a very small part of their business.

"Processes and information need to be accessed very quickly and efficiently. In this area of the market there are time zones to deal with and for most people the internet is their window."

ALC Health will be transforming its systems in partnership with one principle technology provider and a handful of supporting teams.

The launch and specific details are expected to be released later this month.

Apps added the provider was investing "quite heavily" in its processes with new back office systems and server-to-cloud transfer planned this year.

He said: "You can get too comfortable with older systems, but technology is moving at such a pace that you need to keep up. We needed to update our systems."
