Lincoln Financial Group has become the latest provider to join the Special Risks Bureau (SRB) panel.
Lincoln Financial Group is the seventh insurer to join.
Friends Provident, Liverpool Victoria, Lutine, Norwich Union, PAFS and Standard Life are already on the panel.
All members of the SRB panel use its application form to assess cases for underwriting and they all receive the same medical evidence.
Sharing the cost of the medical evidence, the members have effectively cut down the cost for unnecessary duplication.
Commenting on the latest development, Mike Owen, managing director of the SRB, said: "We are delighted to announce a new panel member, particularly one that brings us a competitive whole of life protection product.
We are often asked for this type of protection and now we are able to satisfy that demand." Brian Sceats, head of marketing and communication at Lincoln, said: "Being a part of the Special Risks Bureau panel will allow us to handle applications more efficiently which have until now, been traditionally complex to administer.
"This will free up valuable time for IFAs, allowing them to spend longer with clients to ensure they are recommending the most appropriate and affordable protection plan," Sceats added.
The SRB was developed as an attempt to meet the cover needs of more complex clients who were interested in buying life, critical illness or income protection cover.
