Exeter Friendly Society has unveiled a private medical insurance (PMI) product which it claims will give customers the freedom to choose the cover they want at a price they can afford.

The GoPrivate Health Plan allows applicants to choose four benefit models on top of a compulsory core plan, GoEssentials, which offers private care in over 300 hospitals throughout the UK for treatment of short term illnesses and injuries that respond well to treatment.

Other modules include the choice of a further 300 hospitals in which to be treated, access to complementary therapies and treatments for cancer, cardiac problems and emergencies.

"GoPrivate is simple, flexible, affordable and we won't increase premiums just because you make a claim," said Neil Armitage, GoPrivate Healthplan marketing director.
