One in four Vitality health insurance cancer claimants under 50

Breast cancer half of all claims from women

The latest health insurance claims data from Vitality shows that one in four claimants was under 50 years old.

According to the insurer's data, breast cancer was the most common cancer claim from women of all ages, accounting for approximately half of all claims (49%) last year, followed by skin cancer (20%) and bowel cancer (6%).    Meanwhile, prostate cancer was the most prominent form of cancer in men over the age of 50 (33%), while skin cancer (31%) and bowel cancer (13%) were the most common form of cancer for men under 50.
