Relationship issues, financial stress and depression during winter

January on average witnesses a 29% increase in the number of patient referrals for mental health conditions compared to December over a five-year timeframe, RedArc statistics reveal. The nurse service suggests that people with a history with depression, anxiety or other mental health conditions can find the winter months difficult, while those who have previously not been diagnosed might be unaware of symptoms or too embarrassed to seek help.
