‘Purple Tuesday', a government-backed charity scheme involving major high street brands named to promote accessible shopping, has been announced for Tuesday 13th November. Retailers across the country - and online - are to introduce new measures in order to make shopping more inclusive for customers with both physical and hidden disabilities. Organised by the charity Purple, it will take place within shopping centres such as Bluewater (Kent), Bullring (Birmingham) and Regents Street (London), with the likes of Argos, Asda, Sainsbury's and Marks & Spencer already signed up.
