Danica Pension, one of Denmark's leading pension and insurance companies, has appointed Best Doctors to a three-year contract to provide Danica's customers with expert medical information and second opinion services.

Initially, Best Doctors' services will be solely available to holders of Danica Pension's group income protection policy.

The new three-year contract includes an exclusivity clause for the first two years.

Best Doctors will be appointing a local agent to oversee the contract, in line with its policy to operate active account management with its partners.

Dominic Howard, director Europe at Best Doctors, [pictured] said:"Danica Pension is a major insurer in Denmark, with strong backing from Danska Bank. This is a new territory for us and I am confident that this deal will create fresh opportunities for Best Doctors throughout Scandinavia.

"This latest new contract win underlines our determination to continue growing Best Doctors' expert second opinion and medical information business not only in the UK but across Europe. Our focus on providing our partners with the highest quality service will continue to power our success."

Per Klitgaard, CEO of Danica Pension, added: "Danica Pension operates in a competitive market and we wanted to deliver more health benefits to our client base.

"Using the services of Best Doctors is a strong differentiator for us and we're really looking forward to forging a strong partnership with a provider whose commitment to customers shines through."
