The government will ask the Office of Tax Simplification to conduct a review of ways to simplify the taxation of employee benefits.

The Autumn Statement said the review will also look at ways to reduce the complexity around staff expenses and employee termination payments.

It said the review will include an initial scoping exercise to identify which areas are most complex for taxpayers.

Further details will be provided by the OTS shortly.
