Open referral "a success" - Bupa

clock

Eight out of ten corporate customers are choosing Bupa's Open Referral service for their employees, according to the insurer's figures.

As of October 2012, over 600,000 people are signed up to use the service. Moreover, said Bupa, those using the service report high levels of satisfaction.

Commenting , Tony Wood, sales and marketing director at Bupa Health and Wellbeing said, "We expect that clients will see significant, double-digit percentage savings as a result of Open Referrals over the next 2 to 3 years."

Bupa's Open Referral process means that members are provided with a choice of two or more consultants, at convenient locations, rather than the traditional referral where they are given a single consultant.

Open Referral provides a guarantee that people will not receive any unexpected bills from their consultant following treatment. Bupa launched Open Referral as an option for all corporate clients in 2011.
