Unum launches video for employers

Unum has created a video to help employers understand the value of Income Protection to their business.

The video, which forms part of Unum's IP-awareness raising campaign, illustrates the findings of recent research from the Centre for Economics and Business Research, which found UK businesses spend an estimated £3.1bn every year on employees who are on long-term sick leave, an average of £620,000 per company.

The video, hosted on AskUnum, an online hub hosting blogs, downloadable resources, videos and Q&As, will also be made available to brokers as a tool to explain the benefits of IP, and the risk to companies who are not protected.

Unum highlighted that for every £100 an employer spends on a Group Income Protection policy, they get an average £48 ‘payback' in savings by not having to pay Occupational Sick pay and through other indirect cost savings.
