Unum has been awarded Group Risk Provider of the Year at the 2010 UK Pensions Awards.

The awards are run by Incisive Media's Professional Pensions magazine.

Unum recently enhanced its Group Income Protection to include an associated business cost cover option along with other improvements, and last year introduced a free employee assistance service to its Group and Individual income protection products. It also widened its Group Life product to cover high density areas such as London's Canary Wharf.

On collecting the award, Unum's customer solutions director, Glenn Thompson, said: "We are particularly delighted to win this award for the third time, and being recognised by the industry's leading professionals is a great achievement."
