A streamlined proposal form that allows advisers to arrange instant life cover for their clients has been launched by Lifequote.
The provider claims the initiative is a UK first. Provided clients meet certain criteria and can answer four risk-assessment questions negatively, they will be accepted without having to wait for further medical evidence. Policies available under the scheme are provided by Legal & General and Scottish Widows.
The four questions that need to be answered in order to get cover involve hazardous work or sport, HIV, AIDS, or other specified diseases and medical treatment and tests in the last five years. Applicants must also be under 40 and apply for life cover only, with a sum assured of £200,000 or less.
Michael Ward, sales director of Lifequote, said: 'Shorter proposal forms have made term assurance ' the simplest form of financial protection ' even simpler. These forms will make the broker's life easier and give comfort to the client as they will be accepted on 'normal' terms.'
